Father’s Day falls on Sunday, September 3, this year. It’s the day you need to especially shower dad with love and show him he’s appreciated. Here are five ways to show him you care – and don’t forget that we’re here to lend a hand!
What does your dad consider a delicious treat? Fudge? Brownies? Rocky road? Surprise him with the recipe and gift-wrapped ingredients for one of these delicacies, and then you can all spend some time in the kitchen together creating his treat, just the way he likes it. Or, if that’s not his style, you can do the legwork and bake him a sweet treat in advance and gift wrap it. Be sure to make plenty so everyone can share and there’s still plenty left over for dad!
There’s nothing more special than a gift you have made with your own hands. It could be as simple as a photo in a handmade frame, a homemade card with a heartfelt message or something a little more complicated, like firestarters from old egg cartons, wax and sawdust. Gift the fire starters with a bag of marshmallows and you can finish off Father’s Day together toasting marshmallows around a fire pit. Bliss.
Pull dad away from the daily grind and let him enjoy quality time with the family without feeling guilty about all the jobs that need doing around the house! Paradise Resort is a pretty great place to be on Father’s Day even if we do say so ourselves. We’ll have special activities running all day so the whole family can get together away from the distractions of everyday life. Spend some quality time enjoying each other’s company and – yippee – no-one has to do the washing up!
If a staycation is a little hard to organise, let your dad’s own hobbies/interests steer your planning this Father’s Day. Maybe your dad enjoys fishing, kicking a footy or finishing a puzzle? Is it a trip to the beach? Or maybe a nearby national park for a bushwalk? Whatever it is, get the family together and do those things that you know will put a smile on dad’s face. Finding happiness and simple joy together might just be the gift he (and you all) need this Father’s Day?
Three words: Life’s. Simple. Pleasure. Make up a huge bowl of popcorn and round up the family for an evening snuggled together on the couch. Make sure dad has the best spot – it is Father’s Day after all! Choose a movie the whole family can enjoy, you could try The Incredibles or Finding Nemo. Whatever you pick, a movie on the lounge together is a really lovely way to finish off a nice Father’s Day, enjoying each other’s company.
