Whether you like soothing florals, energising citrus or peppermint to focus your mind, you’re sure to create something lovely at our new perfume or cologne workshop. Recently launched, Paradise Resort is now offering 25-minute workshops that will expose your nose to a range of aromas.
Our activity coordinators will introduce you to a number of essential oils to explore and will let you choose your favourites. They will advise you on what combinations work well together and how to mix them. You’ll blend your selected essential oils to create an alcohol-based perfume or cologne spray that’s exclusive to you, before pouring it into a stylish 30ml clear glass atomiser ready to take home.
Essential oils are believed to have been first used many, many thousands of years ago. They have been shown to boost mood, improve concentration, relieve headaches, reduce stress and promote relaxation among other benefits.
Here are some of the most popular essential oils and their key benefits, in a nutshell:
Lavender is considered the most popular floral scent, believed to promote relaxation, relieve stress and aid sleep. It also smells divine.
Peppermint is sharp and tingly. It can ease mental fatigue and pep you up. Some people swear it reduces headaches, too.
Lemon is fresh and tangy. It has antibacterial properties and may help with feelings of nausea.
Ylang Ylang’s sweet, heavy scent is popular for promoting calm and relaxation.
Frankincense has an intense, earthy aroma and is also credited with being soothing and providing comfort.
Neroli’s scent combines a citrus aroma with orange blossoms and hints of spice and honey. It is fresh and soothing.
Bergamot is fruity and a little spicy. It is credited with promoting emotional wellbeing.
Blending your own custom signature scent is a fun activity that creates a lovely handmade holiday souvenir. Be sure to show it off to your friends when you get home and give them a light spritz. Hopefully, whenever you spray it, your custom scent will transport your senses back to Paradise Resort and remind you of your family holiday at the Gold Coast. It may even spark a new interest in natural perfumery.
