WHERE | 122 Ferny Ave, Surfers Paradise | QLD 4208

Checking in is an absolute breeze as you are welcomed to our resort by our friendly and accommodating staff. The hardest part will be getting your kids from the front desk to your room without all the distractions from the carnival-like oasis that is Paradise Resort!

Once settled into your choice of room it's time to let the fun begin! Straight to the waterpark so the kids can cool down and burn off some energy, while the parents relax with a cold beverage by the pool. Or perhaps a leisurely ocean stroll? Just 250 metres away you will find the infamous turquoise glow of Surfers Paradise Beach. No matter what your preference, you’ll be sure to kickstart your holiday off the right way, between being within walking distance from all the Gold Coast action plus the endless entertainment Paradise Resort has to offer.

Pretty soon, those bellies will start to rumble, and after a full on day, the last thing you’ll want to worry about is finding a suitable eatery that will cater towards the entire family.

Paradise Resort yet again saves the day, offering an array of dining options to suit even the fussiest eaters. From your favourite “grab-and-go” eats such as Jerry’s Burgers and Mexican, to a more formal, sit-down dining experience with a choice of all your Aussie and International favourites at Penguins Restaurant (Did someone say Chicken Parmy!?)– Paradise Resort offers a wide range of affordable dining options the whole family can enjoy.

Day 2: Dreamworld

After a restful sleep, it's time to start the day…the right way! With a big day ahead, you’ll be needing to fuel up (and avoid driving 5 minutes out of the resort with the kids telling you “I’m hungry!”) Lucky enough, Penguins Continental Buffet offers everything you need to satisfy your tastebuds and keep the hunger pains away!

Enjoy a selection of pastries, fruit, cereal, toast, hot and cold beverages. Or personalise your breakfast experience even more by upgrading to a hot breakfast with an array of sides and add-on’s for as little as $6.

Once breakfast is done and dusted, it’s time to hit the road, ready for a jam-packed day of thrilling adventures at Australia’s largest theme park – Dreamworld!

Start your day early to make the most of your visit. Dreamworld opens at 10 AM, (10.30 in Winter) and arriving early helps avoid the rush. After securing parking or arriving by public transport, head straight to the entrance.

Upon entering, you will find yourself on Main Street, which is lined with shops and cafes. Make sure to check out the activities timetable so you can plan your day accordingly without missing out on any of the live shows and entertainment Dreamworld has to offer.

If you're a thrill-seeker, start on one of the parks 7 thrill rides, featuring the parks latest heart-pounding attraction, (and Australia’s only triple launch roller coaster) - the Steel Taipan.

For families, dive into the magic of Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland, a vibrant, brand-new area with family rides and characters from ABC Kids and The Wiggles, offering a range of activities and adventures for all ages.

Dreamworld isn't just about rides; it also features an impressive wildlife sanctuary. Say G’Day to our Aussie wildlife as your journey through Australia’s rich natural ecosystems. Add more to your experience by getting up close and personal and book a Native Wildlife Experience.

As the day winds down, take some time to browse the souvenir shops on Main Street. Pick up a memento to remember your visit, whether it is a cuddly plush toy, themed clothing, or unique memorabilia.

After a fun filled day, you’ll be grateful to relocate back to Paradise Resort. Hit the heated spa in the waterpark to soothe those muscles and order some meals to go for a relaxing night in.

Day 3: Locally Surfers Paradise

With Paradise Resort being perfectly positioned in the very heart of Surfers Paradise, placing guests at the epicentre of the Gold Coast's most vibrant and iconic precinct. Start your day early to catch the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. Take a morning stroll across the sandy beaches and settle into a beachfront café for that fresh morning coffee.

Explore boutique shops, surf stores, and bustling markets offering everything from local crafts to trendy fashion and immerse yourself into endless entertainment options from museums to street markets.

Heading back to the resort to cool off and enjoy a delicious display of drinks and snacks from the poolside café and bar menu, overlooking the waterpark and enjoy some time surrounding yourself with everything Paradise Resort has to offer. Perhaps try out your best moves on the ice-skating rink at Planet Chill, or maybe a pamper session is in order? Visit our bedazzling Pamper Parlour for all your hair braiding, nail art, face jewels and airbrush tattooing! Or for a little more adventure, take on one of our resort amusement rides, such as our Safari Train or Ferris Wheel. With so many options available, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone!

Time for a date night this evening? Make it “child free”! Put the kids in Paradise Resort’s iconic Kids Club, and head out to discover the best views of the Gold Coast at SkyPoint, offering visitors a birds eye view from a unique vantage point of 230 metres above sea level. The 360° views extend down to the New South Wales border and out to the lush Gold Coast hinterland. Wine and dine in the sky to experience golden hour, and enjoy a relaxed beachside atmosphere with panoramic views across the city. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, take on Australia’s highest building climb and see the sights at twilight!

Day 4: Mount Tamborine Rainforest

After a nice relaxing day spent locally without having to venture too far from “home” – it’s time for your next bit of outdoor adventure. So pack your walking shoes and get ready to immerse yourself in the pristine landscapes of the infamous Gold Coast Hinterland.

Mount Tamborine is known for its natural beauty, rich biodiversity and breathtaking views over the Gold Coast and Pacific Ocean, and is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

Soak up the natural beauty of Curtis Falls – a beautiful and accessible waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The short 1.1 km walk to the falls takes you through the dense rainforest, offering opportunities to spot native wildlife and enjoy the serene environment. After connecting with nature, head onto Gallery Walk, a popular tourist strip filled with charming shops, art galleries, and cafes. Enjoy a coffee and browse the unique local art and crafts. This area is perfect for picking up souvenirs and gifts.

Next, visit the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, a 1.5 km rainforest walking experience that includes a 300-meter-long skywalk over the rainforest canopy. This elevated walkway offers stunning views of the rainforest and is an excellent way to appreciate the area's natural beauty from a different perspective.

For lunch, consider dining at one of Tamborine Mountain's renowned wineries or breweries. Many of these establishments offer delicious meals paired with locally produced wines or craft beers. Witches Falls Winery and Fortitude Brewing Company are popular choices where you can enjoy a meal while taking in the scenic views.

If time permits, enjoy the afternoon by heading to the Tambourine Glow Worm Caves. Located in a rehabilitated rainforest, providing a unique opportunity to meet a glowworm up close in a controlled environment, making it a family-friendly and educational experience or explore more of the national parks walking trails showcasing the regions diverse flora.

Lastly, and a very much a “must do”, end your day with a visit to Rotary Lookout, which provides panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Arrive in time to catch the sunset, which can be a breathtaking sight as the sky changes colours over the landscape.

Visiting Tamborine Rainforest is a perfect day trip for nature lovers, offering a blend of outdoor adventure, relaxation, and local culture.

Hot Tips:

  • Wear Comfortable Clothing and Footwear: The rainforest trails can be uneven and damp, so comfortable, sturdy shoes are a must.

  • Bring a Camera: The scenery is stunning, and you'll want to capture the beauty of the rainforest, waterfalls, and wildlife.

  • Pack a Rain Jacket: The weather can be unpredictable, so it's good to be prepared for rain.

  • Stay Hydrated and Bring Snacks: While there are cafes and restaurants, having water and snacks on hand is always a good idea during hikes.
