This brand-new, five-million-dollar playground only opened a few months ago, and it’s already made waves as a must-visit location for local and visiting families. Sit back and relax as your kids run wild, climbing the four-level tower, trying out the interactive play equipment and splashing safely in the water play area. There are plenty of playground classics like swings, slides and balance beams, plus fun favourites like trampolines and climbing walls. There’s even a carousel! Being conveniently located on the beautiful broadwater makes it an ideal destination for a fun family day out, so don’t forget to pack a picnic. The best part? It’s all just a short tram ride away from Paradise Resort.
In the heart of bustling Broadbeach is a huge playground that has it all. Being fully-fenced, it’s perfect for families with rambunctious little ones – it’s also protected with shade cloths, so you don’t need to panic about constantly reapplying sunscreen. But our favourite thing about this playground is the fact that it’s designed with all abilities in mind. Born from a collaboration between the Gold Coast City Council and Disability Services Queensland, this playground offers something for everyone. There are places for imaginative play (like the sandpit and sand tables) and water jets to cool off in the summer heat, plus climbing frames, slides, swings and more. Also, it’s right by the beach and the Kurrawa Surf Club so your whole day is sorted.
This little-known gem is a sanctuary in the centre of Surfers, home to plenty of trees, lush lawns and a few interesting residents. Between their free-roaming peacock population and the local Bigfoot (who can be found sleeping in his cave), it’s hard to believe that Macintosh Park is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the high-rise buildings of Surfers Paradise. While the playground itself isn’t huge, the park certainly is - plenty of places to ride bikes or rollerblade. Plus, it’s got sheltered picnic tables, toilets and plenty of other facilities that make it an ideal spot to spend a family day out in Surfers.
