When you think of Paradise Resort Gold Coast, it's probably the waterparks, family entertainment and holidays that first come to mind. But behind the scenes, there's a whole team of people working together to make it all happen.
And while we're passionate about creating great holidays for our guests, we're just as passionate about supporting the people who make them possible.
From giving students their first taste of working in hospitality to supporting apprenticeships and connecting with future employees, we're proud to help young people explore the opportunities available in tourism and hospitality.
Here's a look at what we've been up to and how we're helping the next generation take their first steps into the industry.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and for many young people, their first experience in hospitality begins while they're still at school.
Paradise Resort is proud to be involved in the Gateway to Industry Schools – Tourism and Hospitality program, an initiative supported by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) that connects schools with businesses across the tourism and hospitality industry.
Through our partnership with Keebra Park State High School, students have the opportunity to experience what it's like working in a busy resort environment, gaining practical skills and learning directly from experienced hospitality professionals.
It's a chance to put classroom learning into practice, build confidence and discover the many different career paths available within the industry.
We're hopeful this is just the beginning, with plans to explore opportunities to partner with more local schools in the future, giving even more students the chance to gain valuable industry experience.
Our involvement in the program was also recently highlighted in QTIC's article, How Gateway is Connecting Tourism Operators with Future Talent, which explores how partnerships like these are helping students take their first steps towards a career in hospitality.

Speaking of young talent, we recently had a very special reason to celebrate!
One of our school-based apprentices, Lisi-James (LJ), was named a finalist in the School-Based Apprentice and Trainee category at the 2026 TAFE Queensland Apprentice and Trainee Awards.
LJ was recognised alongside 10 other finalists from industries across Queensland, including aged care, childcare, carpentry and other trades. It's an incredible achievement and a reflection of the hard work and dedication he's shown throughout his apprenticeship.
On 4 November 2026, LJ attended the awards ceremony at Sharks Event Centre on the Gold Coast, accompanied by a member of our kitchen team.
While he didn't take home the award, being recognised as a finalist at this level is something we're incredibly proud of.
It's also a wonderful acknowledgement of the support and guidance provided by our Executive Sous Chef, Leilah Bulayungan, who work closely with our apprentices to help them develop their skills and confidence in the workplace.
A huge congratulations to LJ on this fantastic achievement! We can't wait to see where his hospitality career takes him next.

We're always looking for opportunities to connect with people interested in joining the tourism and hospitality industry.
In August 2026, Paradise Resort participated in the Student Jobs Recruitment Event at HOTA – Home of the Arts, joining other Gold Coast employers to meet students interested in exploring employment opportunities.
Events like these give young people the chance to speak directly with employers, ask questions and get a better understanding of what working in hospitality actually involves.
For us, it's also an opportunity to show just how varied the roles within a resort can be.
You don't necessarily need years of experience to get started in hospitality. Sometimes, all it takes is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude and someone willing to give you that first opportunity.
And with so many different areas of the industry to explore, that first job could be the beginning of a much bigger career.

One of the great things about working in hospitality is that no two days are quite the same, especially at Paradise Resort!
There's a lot more happening behind the scenes than you might expect. While our reception and reservations teams are busy welcoming guests and organising holidays, our chefs are preparing meals, housekeeping is keeping the resort looking its best, and our entertainment and Kids Club and activities teams are making sure there's never a dull moment.
It's a pretty diverse workplace, and that's what makes hospitality such an interesting industry to be part of.
Some of our team members have been working in hospitality for years, while others have joined us straight from school with little or no experience. We've seen firsthand how much people can grow when they're given the opportunity to learn on the job, take on new responsibilities and find their feet in the industry.
And for some, what starts as a casual job can turn into a long-term career.

We're proud of the team we've built at Paradise Resort, and it's always exciting to see new faces joining us and finding their place within the resort.
Our involvement with local schools, training programs and recruitment events is just one way we're helping people get a foot in the door. We're looking forward to continuing these relationships and hopefully creating even more opportunities in the years ahead.
Interested in joining our team? Take a look at our current vacancies on the Paradise Resort Careers page. We'd love to hear from you!
