      You don’t often think about going ice-skating while you are on the Gold Coast but you can add it to the itinerary with Surfers Paradise's only ice-skating rink located right here at Paradise Resort. Situated on the second floor above Penguins Restaurant, Planet Chill is an all-weather attraction which lends itself to family fun, year round and its made with real ICE.

      Suitable for all ages big and small

      Planet Chill is suitable for all kids, big and small (3+ years) and to make it a little easier for beginners to stay on their feet we have fibreglass penguins to help make your ‘icecapades’ more bump-free. We’ve even added to the fun of ice skating with popular music, a disco ball and under-ice lighting to light up your session.

      Entry to Planet Chill for spectators is FREE. You only pay if you wish to skate. Children 0-2 years of age are not permitted on the ice. Children aged 5 years and under must be accompanied on the ice by a skating adult.

        Cost

        Skating sessions start from $20 per person. Children 3-5 years pay from $10 and must skate with a paying adult. Additional fees may apply for children with special needs or requiring one-on-one care with learn to skate sessions also available.

        Skating is available to resort guests, as well as the general public and we recommend pre booking online to avoid disappointment.

        Some accommodation packages may include a complimentary session so check your reservation details.

        What To Wear

        Socks are compulsory for all skaters and must be brought with you and closed-in shoes, such as sneakers, are required for children with a shoe size up to a Junior 13. The ice-rink can be cold at times so we recommend wearing long pants and bringing a jumper.

        Guests are welcome to bring their own wrist guards, knee pads or gloves. These items are optional and great for beginner skaters, we do not provide these items.

        We provide Ice Skates (or beginner strap-on skates) and helmets for each guest. Helmets are supplied free of charge and must be worn by skaters to prevent head injury.

      Planet Chill is open to in-house guests as well as the general public (all other facilities are for in-house guests only). As numbers for each session are limited, we recommend pre-purchase of tickets to avoid disappointment.
